The Castle Climbing Centre Gardens

The Castle Climbing Centre Gardens is a wonderful spot just off Green Lanes, Stoke Newington, London N4 2HA.  The Garden itself is a wonderful spot where much of the vegetables grown is used by their cafe, growing communities and on the events I run also.

SAMPLE SESSION:
We will start with a Flavour Led Forage (snacks and tasters along the way) in Abney Cemetery making our way through Clissold park and onto The Castle Climbing Centre gardens.  Along the way I will discuss Identification of wild plants and funghi, as well as the history & folklore followed by a feast in the garden.

Flavour Fred’s Foraging Walks: These sessions are an introduction to foraging for flavour in order to teach on the rules and regulations, identification techniques, and the risks associated with wild food and drink. Throughout the walk we will identify seasonal ingredients and compare and contrast with their dangerous counterparts. During this I will be regularly visiting certain techniques of preservation and ways in which to create tasty wild ingredients to use at home along with a few tasters.
