”- Boletus Edulis: CEP

- Boletus aereus: Bronze CEP/Queen Bolete
- Boletus reticulatus: Summer CEP
The CEP is the top prize, showing the differences between them all. But to be honest, the texture and flavour of each is epic. I would prioritise them as above. I looked around oak and beech for all of them, but the CEP was found in a little more of a mixed ancient woodland which had some pine but mainly oak and beech. They all have the classic shape you would expect, although the Bronze CEP has a darker and more downy cap, and the reticulation on the stipe is darker than the other two. The Summer CEP is very similar to the CEP but missing a white ring around the cap and just not quite as white.
I’ve been getting into them all on a walk lately. Enjoy the season, and let me know if you have any questions or want to head out privately.
